Pistol Range Work Party
|
Well, the Novinski brothers have done it again and put together one heck of a work party and a darn good time was had by all that helped out at the Pistol Range Work Party! With the exception of one small spot (to be completed soon), the main backstop and bullet impact berm have been completely refurbished. All of the plates have been reset; the faithful tires have been retired (sorry) and replaced with metal plate and 22 yards of new sand has been artfully tractored in by the likes of Clinton Shaw whose masterful driving left everyone spellbound! Further excitement was had when Tom tried to run over Clete with the tractor, but the Novinski brothers being fleet of foot,….well, Clete was able to dance away easily and escaped with nary a scratch! As it turns out Tom is also no slouch and has been able to cleverly stay out of Clete’s sights until the heat is off also. Special thanks to Bob Ballard for the use of his gasoline powered welder that saved the day. The expert welding was done by our favorite FAA technician Robert Sadesk with help from Mark Downing who is everywhere and worked on every aspect of the project. Many thanks to Steve Reinhart, Jeff Detwiler and Ron Diana for their willingness to help provide all around support wherever the help was needed. Special thanks to Susan Novinski and John Thimmesch who took time out of their day to cook and feed that hungry work party! Cork Carpenter and Mark Downing will be in on Tuesday to finish up by replacing the back rail and re installing the two pistol bays removed for tractor access. A volunteer is needed to repaint some of the new wood that will be installed as part of the final phase, please contact Tom Hunt 253 951 2425 (tomjhunt@att.net) for details if you would like to help with this or any other projects.
